This was a dream project—Last Spring I began working with Shore and the historic Pilchuck Glass School to develop a new library of imagery in parallel with a brand refresh and new website.

In the late 60’s, Dale Chihuly moved back to the Pacific Northwest after finishing school in Maine to start a school dedicated to the art of glass. With the help of a couple philanthropists, he acquired a piece of land on a working tree farm in Stanwood WA, nestled in the forest and looking out over the Skagit Bay and islands of north Puget Sound. Those early years established a tone of experimentation and exploration that continues to influence studios, workshops, schools, and universities across the world to this day. It has grown from a tent on a hill to a state-of-the-art school and mecca for those serious about the creative use of glass in art and design.

Our goal was to capture the people, process, diverse working studios, and the natural beauty of the surroundings to bring viewers into life on campus—more imagery than I can share here, but I recommend checking out their website to see the final product.

Thank you Joe King and Jacob Tobey for the collaboration and vision on this, and to Luke Webster Brown for the assistance.
